This class is open to Massage Therapists, Doulas and Health Care professionals who want to acquire the skills to help provide comfort to pregnant women.
Also open to pregnant women and couples who want skills to help with prenatal comfort, labor support and post partum recovery. A gentle but effective massage for the mother to be, nurturing the whole body and targeting the areas most affected by pregnancy.
In this workshop students will learn massage techniques appropriate for all stages of pregnancy as well as contraindications.
Day 1~ Saturday July 22nd 12pm-6:30pm (6 CEUs)
12-3pm : Covers anatomy, uses and contraindications for massage during pregnancy, and common complaints of pregnancy. You will learn massage techniques on birth balls and chair massage. 3 NCBTMB CEUs
3:30-6:30pm : Learn a full body fully clothed floor massage routine. 3 NCBTMB CEUs
If you have no prior training or experience working with pregnancy clients I recommend taking this day as the information will not be repeated in Day 2.
Day 2 ~ Sunday July 23rd 9:30pm-4:30pm (6 CEUs)
You will learn Hawaiian Massage techniques on massage tables completing a basic full body side-lying massage routine. Options for positioning clients semi sitting are also covered in this day. If you are already a massage therapist with training in anatomy and contraindications of pregnancy massage you could attend just this day for the table massage techniques.
Instructor Carrie Curtis has practiced pregnancy massage for over 25 years and is trained as a DONA certified birth doula with experience in both home and hospital births.
Course is Approved for 12 hours of continuing education for massage therapists with the NCBTMB and doulas with DONA.
Carrie Curtis is the owner of Hamoea Healing Arts LLC based in Kailua,Hawaii. She has been a licensed massage therapist since 1998 and an NCBTMB Approved continuing education provider since 2000.
She travels the world teaching Hawaiian Massage workshops. Her classes are also accredited in Canada, Australia, and the UK and she is an affiliate member of Massage New Zealand. Her classes are fun and packed with techniques, with an emphasis on proper form and body mechanics.
Course is held at Nori kohana massage academy class room in Kailua, Oahu and price includes the class only. Students are responsible for their own meals, accommodations and transportation to the class.
Masks will be required while indoors due to the close contact of trading massage. Students will pair up to give and receive hands on massage in this class.

Once you sign up for the class, the payment is Non-Refundable, Non-Transferable.

You will have an opportunity to make up the class with this non-refundable amount in the coming class (Exact date TBD)
