Akemi graduated from Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine of Santa Monica, California in 2006 with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. While attending the Emperor's College, she completed her internship at Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center at University of California Los Angeles campus providing acupuncture services to its students and faculty members.
After graduation, Akemi opened her own acupuncture practice in Palm Dessert, California. She also worked with an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Douglas Rogers, in Palm Desert and Coachella Valley where she specialized in treating his pre/post-surgical patients for pain management. Akemi was also the acupuncturist at Trilogy La Quinta, a spa for an active adult community. Seven years ago, Akemi and her family moved to Hawaii. She feels she is blessed to call the Windward side of beautiful Oahu her home. She has been practicing out of Nori Kohana Massage Therapy in Kailua for the past 4 years specializing in women and men's health and pain management. |
